This is a great article and very thought provoking. I know it’s very trivial in the scheme of things, but I’m still mourning the degradation of Evernote. I used it for years as a diary so the dates of entries were important. A few years ago after an update, every time I clicked on a previous entry, the date would change (updating to the current day) thus rendering the whole thing useless to me. I tried talking to its customer service, but got nowhere. So I deleted Evernote. 🥲
By any chance, have you read Neil Gaiman's 'Technopoly'?

Besides the obvious suffering, frustrations, & annoyances, what in particular bothers you?
Is it the lack of agency to control or even influence your life?
In previous historical periods, you'd have even less control over your life.
Perhaps it is our current belief or illusion of control over our lives that causes this suffering.
100%. Spot on.
